Conferences
Most conferences this summer are still being held virtually. While you won’t get to hang out with your peers, it will save you on travel costs and time.
May 19, Virtual
FSI: At the Intersection of Teaching, Learning, and Technology is an annual conference that brings educators and instructional-technology professionals together each May at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Attendees come from across Illinois and as far away as Canada. The conference features keynote presentations, networking, and hands-on training on the use of modern communication and information technologies in education.
Participants are encouraged to share their experiences and teaching methods in person and virtually. Networking is a main component of FSI, and there are many opportunities for social engagement during receptions, scheduled activities, and concurrent sessions.
June 26-30, Virtual
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) is a nonprofit organization that works with the global education community to accelerate the use of technology to solve tough problems and inspire innovation. Our worldwide network believes in the potential technology holds to transform teaching and learning.
Due to the global pandemic, the ISTE conference went fully virtual in 2020, using a custom-built platform that allowed real-time collaboration with presenters and attendees, gamification features designed to deepen learning and engagement, and an archive of more than 1,000 learning experiences that attendees could return to again and again for six months. This year, ISTELive 21 will also be a virtual event delivered on the same dynamic platform, featuring powerful voices and offering a treasure trove of content and resources.
