Where You Can Find Help: A Quick Guide

As the Spring Term wraps up, many may be looking for support to help them with things like putting in grades, figuring out Blackboard, helping students, dealing with tech glitches, or any number of other things that come up and add stress to this already busy time. 

Luckily, the College is full of people ready and willing to help. Even though we’re not on campus, there are resources and staff members here to make your life easier and answer any questions you may have. Here’s where you can turn to help in these next few weeks (or anytime!) 

Learning Technologies 

We can help you with any of your Blackboard questions and problems (aside from the bigger “Blackboard isn’t working at all” kinds of issues, which are IT’s domain). We also support Collaborate, Ally, and YuJa and can help you with anything related to setting up your courses, submitting your grades, best practices, or otherwise using technology in your online classroom. Information Technologies 

The IT department is your source for help with things like your email, Microsoft products, Adobe products, Zoom, and any technical issues with Blackboard (like outages, for example). You can contact them at: 

Access and Accommodations 

Do you have students who need accommodations for assessments or other course content? While LT can help with some things, Access and Accommodations can help you with figuring out the ins and outs of supporting your students who need extra time on tests, alternative formats, and other accommodations. Office of Student Records 

While you might not often need to reach out to this department for help, they’re who you need to call or email if you’ve made a mistake in submitting your grades or verifications. You can contact them at: 

Adjunct Faculty Support 

Adjunct faculty can take advantage of a whole group of support staff who can answer their questions about working at COD, teaching, submitting grades, etc. If they can’t help you, they can send you to someone like LT or IT who can! 

Employee Development Center

The EDC can help you with Cornerstone registration and offers a range of courses and training resources. You can contact them for help or information about any of these trainings– some of them can even be used for PD credit!
